The Namaste photograph, taken in 2000 by Cora Edmonds as she was traveling through the remote Humla region of Nepal with a documentary film crew.

The airstrip in Simikot is situated on a natural plateau in the otherwise mountainous region. It is only way of reaching the heart of the Humla region other than a 26 day trek.

Cora and Phil were able to wrangle a ride on a cargo helicopter flying to Simikot.
